The South Kitsap Chamber concentrates on promoting local businesses and encouraging residents to visit their local neighborhood merchants. Port Orchard and the greater South Kitsap area are a fun and unique community. The downtown area offers great gift buying solutions from toys, candy, and antiques to “retro” home and northwest decor. Port Orchard also has access to all the staples you could need. Supermarkets, hardware stores, auto dealers, trade services and the regular array of professional services.
The area offers many different dining opportunities ranging from burger-style diners to fun pubs and fine dining. You can find just about anything you are looking for in South Kitsap.
While you are here make sure you check out the many different parks and recreational areas. We have some great playgrounds, ballfields, and beach-accessible waterfront. You can swim, fish, or just get out on your boat. South Kitsap is surrounded on 3 1/2 sides by saltwater beaches and has many freshwater lakes too.
It is easy to get to Port Orchard and the South Kitsap area. You can reach us by car or boat/ferry. Washington State ferries offer 4 routes to Kitsap County and Kitsap Transit offers 3 fast/passenger-only ferries from downtown Seattle. Whether getting away for the day or stopping by on your way to the Olympic Peninsula we are a great place to visit.
Come on out and see for yourself.
