The South Kitsap community, aptly named for its location in the southern part of Kitsap County, spans approximately 100 square miles, characterized largely by its rural landscape. Nestled on the western shores of Puget Sound and almost entirely surrounded by water, Kitsap County boasts scenic beauty and convenient access to maritime activities. At the heart of the South Kitsap community lies the quaint town of Port Orchard.
Port Orchard serves as the county seat of Kitsap County, situated directly across the bay from Bremerton and the renowned Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The town is home to a vibrant and diverse population. The South Kitsap community as a whole has around 75,000 residents, with approximately 17,000 residing in the incorporated city of Port Orchard.
