Bethel Road Phase 1 would include the construction of two roundabouts on Bethel Road at both Salmonberry Road and Blueberry Roads. The Bethel Road segment between Salmonberry Road and Blueberry includes a sidewalk, Bioretention swale, curb and gutter, bike lane, one travel lane in each direction, and a raised center median.

“The Bethel corridor is a major artery providing connections to SR 160, downtown Port Orchard, the Southworth Ferry Terminal, and large-scale commercial developments. The population of the city has more than doubled in the last twenty years and we need to improve the functioning of this critical roadway for not only the traffic levels we are experiencing now but for the continued growth into the future,” said Port Orchard Mayor Rob Putaansuu.
